Maple Leaf Kennel Club Virtual Dog Show Rules and information


Since we can’t go to the dog shows, The Maple Leaf Kennel Club will be bringing the dog shows to you. We are hosting an All-Breed Virtual Dog Event as a club fundraiser. All money raised goes to the club to help keep exhibitor fees down. This online event will be our Third Virtual Dog Show and it is for fun, no points for any registry will be earned but we will have online awards for classes and groups, as well as cash prizes and a Rosette for Best in show. The online dog shows will not be associated with any registries.


We will judge by the breed standards of UKC. However If you enter a breed not recognized by UKC, it will be judged according to the CKC or FCI standards. If you have a rare breed not recognized by these registries please contact us so we can be sure to have the breed standard available for the judges.


Conformation classes will be for dogs that are registered in any legitimate registry.

Performance, Summer fun, and super cute classes are for ALL pure breeds and ALL mixed breeds no registration numbers required.


MLKC’s Virtual Dog Shows' Opening date will be June 14th 2021. Closing date will be July 14th 2021. Judging will follow closing date. Winners will be announced no sooner than July 17th 2021. Announcements will depend on numbers of entries to process and judge. We will be announcing breed winners, group winners, Best in show winners, and fun photos each on a different day.

Rules for entries:

  • Please only enter dogs owned by you or your family. ( JR handlers may enter with any dog as long as they have permission from the dog's owner)
  • All dogs present and past may be entered.
  • Photos entered in conformation must reflect the age category they are entered in. Example- Do not send puppy pictures for an 8year old veteran
  • For conformation classes, Jr handling and brace, you may enter only 3 photos per dog, per class. We are using photos only to be inclusive of all as we know some people can not get help with video during Covid 19.
  • For Conformation entries, you must have at least one stacked or standing side view photo, and 2 others of your choice.
  • If you use a win photo please be sure the judge and awards are cropped out. No photos with awards or win pictures with judges will be permitted.
  • Individual dogs may be entered in multiple classes by using ‘age/class appropriate' photos. For example 1 dog can be entered as a puppy with pictures of them at that 9 months and as a veteran with pictures of them at 9 years OR a dog can be entered in veteran class as well as the open class with the same pictures. Dogs that have passed away may also be entered.
  • For the FUN CLASSES send Only 1 picture of your dog per entry. You may enter as many pictures as you like. Each picture is a separate entry.
  • Crisp clear Digital photos only please.
  • All photos must be sent by email to maple.leaf.kennel.club@gmail.com
  • Do not post your photos in the MLKC virtual dog show group or in the albums.
  • Please send each dog's entry in separate emails.
  • Entries will be added to the albums after payment is made and your photos are ready for entry. Please check your entries in the face book group to be sure they are correct. All exhibitors will have 24 hours after closing to check to be sure their entry is correct. We can not be responsible for incorrect or missing entries after that time.
  • By sending Maple Leaf Kennel Club an entry you grant permission to post your pictures publicly on face book for this event.


  • *** Cash prizes will be paid in Canadian funds via e transfer in Canada and paid via PayPal to the USA ,other countries will have to make other arrangements any fees will be deducted from the prize money.
  • Entry fees $5.00 per entry.
  • All payments must be made before entries will be posted.
  • You may pay by PayPal, using the Friends and Family option or e-transfer to maple.leaf.kennel.club@gmail.com payments must be made in Canadian currency.

-Rosette For Overall Best In show ADULT (mailed to winner) and 10% of all of Adult entry fees (group 1st winners from the adult groups will be judged in BIS )


-Rosette For Overall Best In show VETERAN (mailed to winner) and 10% of all of veteran entry fees (group 1st winners from the Veteran groups will be judged in VBIS )


-Rosette For Overall Best In show ALTERED (mailed to winner) and 10% of all of Adult entry fees (group 1st winners from the Altered groups will be judged in ALTBIS )


-Rosette for overall Best In show PUPPY (mailed to winner) and 10% of all of the puppy entry fees (group 1st winners from the puppy groups will be judged in BPIS )
